Merridy Huxley

Owner

Merridy Huxley is passionate about health and fitness. She has a degree in Physical Education from the University of Western Australia. Over the past 26 years she has worked with a wide range of ages in the areas of Physical Education, Recreation and Outdoor Education. In 2005 Merridy decided to update her knowledge and completed a Certificate III in Fitness and has completed studying Certificate IV in 2007 to become a Personal Trainer

.

She enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits including bushwalking, cycling, skiing and kayaking. In 2005 Merridy represented NSW in marathon kayaking and with her kayak partner Marg Cook currently holds records in the Hawkesbury Classic and Murray Marathon.

Shelagh Hayman
Yoga
Cas Day
Fitness Intructor

Shelagh is passionate about teaching Yoga and hopes to share that passion with others. She is a fully qualified Yoga teacher and has been practising her own Yoga for 30 years! Shelagh teaches Hatha Yoga, Ha means Sun/ physicality, tha means Moon/Mind so it aims to bring balance to our body and Mind.

 

Cassandra Day has been a dedicated client of Running Wild Fitness and enjoyed the benefits (and the weight loss) so much that she had a career change and has become a Cert III fitness instructor with extra qualifications in Boxing and Zumba. Cas is currently studying her Cert IV and looking to further develop her understanding of the mind/body link.

Cas has a husband, three daughters, three chickens and a dog and has lived in Berowra Heights for the last 11 years.

Shelagh teaches all the classic Yoga Poses to stretch and strengthen the whole body, some breath awareness and exercises to increase energy and reduce stress and finish off with a peaceful relaxation to bring harmony to the mind. Shelagh believes Yoga can benefit everyone, so don’t be shy to try Yoga, you don’t need to be flexible , we are all a work in progress as we work towards flexibility but combining that with stability, stamina and strength. You will enjoy: Better posture, increased range of movement throughout the whole body, better digestion and circulation, Yoga reduces stress and increases your “feel good hormones”, finally you’ll have more energy, and a better night’s sleep.

Fitness Instructor

Craig is a very experienced & talented instructor at Running Wild Fitness. A retired school PE teacher/head teacher. Craig has been involved in the world of fitness for many years & instructs at various locations in Sydney. He currently works at Running Wild on a Thursday afternoon in the gym & also instructing Beginners Spin & the popular Circuit.

 

 

 

 

Trevor Huxley has now joined the team at Running Wild. Trevor has completed Certificate III & IV in Fitness . He is a keen Football (Soccer) player and in the past has been a competent tennis player, rep cricketer & runner

Jeannette Lasek
Pilates Instructor
Pat Jeffries
Tai Chi Instructor

Jeanette is passionate about the benefits of Pilates! She is a qualified Pilates and Spin Instructor and currently takes classes on a Wednesday evening at Running Wild Fitness.

Pat has been teaching Tai Chi in Berowra for over 20 years and is an excellent teacher. She is a testament to the ability of Tai Chi to keep you mobile & flexible in later life!

Sandra Thomas

Kym Austen
Gym Instructor

Sandra loves people and cares about their health and fitness. After having lost 70 kilos (give or take), she understands the commitment and dedication it takes to lose weight. She is a Qualified Fitness Australia Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and also holds a Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork. Her motto – Unlock Your Potential. And have fun getting fitter.

She has lived in Berowra for 12 years, with her husband Hugh, her 2 dogs and 4 cats.


Kim is a qualified trainer and facilitator with an infectious passion for health, people and the outdoors. Kim is currently a cyclist, runner and adventure racer. Although her batteries don't seem to run low, she understands and supports the principles of enjoyment with fitness and tailoring programs and activities that are individual and don't preclude anyone from participating.

Warren Huxley
Part Time Helper/Maintenance Man

Warren has a passion for the outdoors, kayaking, bush walking, cross country skiing and biking. Warren has worked for many years in the Outdoor Recreation Industry and most recently as a corporate trainer specilising in leadership, team dynamics, personal development and business improvement.
