Do I have to become a member?
At Running Wild
there is no membership, no joining fee, no contracts and no direct debit
deductions. You can pay for each visit on a casual basis. We do offer
5, 10 or 20 visit passes where you pay up front and receive a discounted
price for each visit. We also offer a 12 week unlimited pass.
Tai Chi and Pilates are offered as a 10 week course and these you need
to pay for up front.

Can I pay when I visit?
Yes, you can pay
each time you come to the gym or to a class. Payment is by cash or cheque,
we do not have a credit facility.

What is an Open Session?
An open session
is the time when the gym is open and you can come and use the gym. A
pre requisite of using the gym is that you must have had a fitness assessment.
At this time a specific gym program is written for you.

Do I have to have a fitness assessment if I only want to attend classes?
No, you just need
to fill out a medical questionnaire.

Can I just turn up for a class?
Yes,
you can just turn up for a class. However, it is advisable to phone
and check that the class is on. The exceptions are tai chi and pilates
– you must be booked in for the ten week course or at the discretion
of the instructor.

What do you do in the gym?
The gym has a range
of cardio equipment, gym equipment and weights. Cardio equipment includes
– treadmills, bikes, cross trainer and rower.
Gym equipment – a multi station, leg press bench press and weights.
Depending on your goals, medical history and level of fitness an individual
program is devised using the above equipment. Each program is approximately
one hour but you may stay for a shorter or longer time.

What do you do in the Aerobics room?
The aerobics room
is a large open space that is used for various group exercise programs
and classes. Current classes include tai chi, pilates, beginners strength,
Butt, Abs & Thighs, Mitts & Pads Boxing, Boxing Circuit, Falls
Prevention & Activate.

Do all your staff have Fitness and First Aid Qualifications?
Yes, we only employ
qualified staff.
9.
After I have had an assessment and I have my program am I ‘on my
own’?
No, the instructor
in the gym will supervise you and correct your technique if necessary.
If a program needs to be altered this is done. After 12 visits the program
is changed or upgraded.
10.
I’ve never been to a gym before? What do I wear and what do I bring?
Wear comfortable
clothes that you can move freely in and enclosed shoes or joggers. Bring
a towel and a bottle of water.
11.
I’m too overweight/old to attend a gym?
At Running Wild
Fitness we specialise in the mature adult and cater to those who are
intimidated by the larger fitness centres. We aim to make you feel welcome
and comfortable. You are never too old or too unfit to exercise as we
guide you through your program. We have men and women attending the
gym ranging in age from 9 years to 95 years!

Do I have to attend the same session every time I come?
No, you can come
in any open session. Naturally some sessions are busier than others.
It is advisable to get into a routine and make exercise part of your
weekly timetable.
13.
How often should I attend the gym or classes?
For general fitness
and weight loss you should do a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise per
day. This could comprise of gym visits, aerobic or other classes, walking,
swimming etc. Some clients visit Running Wild once a week, twice a week
and some we see most days – the choice is yours!
14.

We are open Monday
